The Martin family, headed by Fernando and Jeanette, purchased the old Dorrien winery from the Seppelt family in 1984, officially opening it as Chateau Dorrien on 13 January 1985. In 1990 the family purchased Twin Valley Estate and moved the winemaking operations of Chateau Dorrien to the Twin Valley site. All off the Chateau Dorrien group wines are sold at Chateau Dorrien winery building in the heart of the Barossa Valley.

Fernando Martin is a third generation descendant of an Italian wine and liqueur making family. Having successfully created fabulous Honey Liqueurs from recipes handed down through generations and producing premium quality red and white wines from the grapes on the famous Dorrien vineyards he went on to purchase a larger wine production facility at Lyndoch. His Son Ramon (Ray) Martin himself is a dedicated winemaker and joined the family business and together, their aim is to continue producing handcrafted products of Medal winning quality and consistency in the family boutique winery.

Martincellars Pty Ltd is the parent company set up to administer the operations of our winery enterprises. These are Twin Valley Estate, Chateau Dorrien, Falcon Nest and San Fernando Estate. Martincellars is a family company and is committed to producing quality wines in the Barossa Valley.

Twin Valley Estate

Twin Valley Estate is the Martin Family winemaking and production facility and Vineyard. The winery is located in a beautiful valley called Hoffnungstahl (German for Valley of Hope) between Lyndoch and Williamstown, Barossa Valley. The skilled and talented winemakers Ray and Fernando produce the award winning Twin Valley White Port, aged Tawny Port and quality Red and White wines under the labels of Chateau Dorrien, Falcons Nest and San Fernando Estate. All grapes are sourced from the family individual Vineyards. In addition Fernando's skills as a liqueur maker are practised at Twin Valley with the production of his range of Honey Mead Liqueurs.

All products are sold from the sister winery Chateau Dorrien Cellar Door.

San Fernando Estate

San Fernando Estate is situated in the southern Fleurieu Pennisula, beautiful, picturesque with cool climate ideal for growing grapes. The premium fruit from our 80 acres vineyard is of the highest quality and professionally managed by a third generation Vigneron. The sought after grapes: Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Verdelho, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are picked by the Martin family, crushed and processed at the Twin Valley Winery in Lyndoch. All the quality wines are sold at the Sister winary Chateau Dorrien Cellar Door.
