Chateau Dorrien wines are produced offsite at the companies wine making facility near Lyndoch, Barossa Valley, South Australia.
Located in the Hoffnungsthal valley, our vineyards enjoy the nourishment given by deep alluvial soils deposited over a wide area by ancient flooding.
The name Hoffnungsthal (German for valley of hope) was given to a township settlement a few kilometres from the family winery.
Well over 150 years ago flooding at the settlement forced the German inhabitants to abandon it.
Our cellar door, Chateau Dorrien, located between Tanunda and Nuriootpa, market their red wine varieties under the name of Dorrien Cabernet Sauvignon, Dorrien Shiraz, Falcons Nest Shiraz, and Primavera (light red) rose style.
Of special note we mention the enormously successful Falcons Nest Late Harvest Cabernet Sauvignon.
